How to fix a broken veneer?

User Level:

Hello!

I have veneers on my two front teeth. The other day, while I was eating meat, I heard a slight crack and one of supporting teeth along with my veneer was broken. Now there is no tooth to reattach the veneer to. Will a dentist be able to repair this?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Dear Darkangel,

Your dentist can rebuild your tooth to support the veneer crown. If the veneer is already more than 10 years old, you may want to consider having it replaced.

Hi!

It sounds like the supporting tooth has been broken. In this case, you may have to take your veneered crowns off and get a unit bridge to pass over your lost tooth.
