How do I protect my broken tooth?

Hi everyone!

I broke my tooth three days ago. I can't see my dentist until next week and I am worried that my
tooth gets worse. Yesterday, a little piece came off. The tooth does not hurt at all and it's not also sensitive to temperature. I've been doing extra care to the tooth, I brush and floss regularly. Any suggestions on what else should I do to keep the tooth from breaking up totally until I'll be able to see my dentist?

All answers are greatly appreciated!

Hello Redhead!

You can place a temporary dental filling into the tooth. Check it with your pharmacist. Avoid eating on the side where the broken tooth is and be very careful with the type of foods you bite into.

Go on a softer diet. If you eat hard foods like apple, carrot or the like cut them up. Maintain the proper oral hygiene.
