How do I protect a cavity from growing larger?

Hi guys! I am so grateful, I found this website. It is so informative and helpful.

I've got a question. I just got my braces removed and I have a cavity in my left canine. When I press on it, it hurts. It's going to be at least a month before I have the money to get it fixed. I'd like to know if anyone knows of a way to prevent the cavity from growing any larger until the time I get it filled.

Thank you for input.

Hello!

Caries should be treated sooner rather than later, so I suggest you don't wait too long.

In the meantime however, practise exceptional oral hygiene, try and consume food with low sugar content, and use fluoride gels!

All the best!

Thank Doc,

I've noted those suggestions!

You can slow it down by avoiding sugary and acidic foods. Get it filled as soon as you can though.
