ok so I woke up Saturday ( 4 days ago.) with really bad jaw pain with headache for 2 days. I went to the dentist 2 days ago because of the pain in my jaw and ear. He took a couple of xrays of the side that hurts and poked around in my mouth. He said he couldnt find a reason of whats going on, he thinks maybe i grind my teeth in my sleep.m I have never had a problem with this. i have one wisdom tooth left and its on the other side so thats not the problem.. It hurts to eat half way through eating my jaw cracks and it hurts very very bad im afraid it may be something serious... ive been taking advil someone please help ease my mind or give advice

It sound like TMD. Have your dentist prescribe a muscle relaxant for the short term. Supplement this by hot compresses while you are massaging the sore muscles. Then seek the help of a physical therapist who likes to deal in TMD. Eventually your dentist will also have to make you a nightguard to keep the condition under control.

Advil is a pain reliever only that can get rid the pain in short term only.
