Having a tooth capped, how painful is it?

Hello everyone,

I have had a root canal done on one of my front teeth and the worst part was the injection. I waited to get my tooth capped because I am nervous of the injection and I hate needles. As much as possible I don't want to have another long procedure but I know I have to. How painful is capping compared to a root canal? Please post your experiences so I know what to expect.

Thanks and best regards.

Pain is not the problem when having your tooth capped as it does not hurt at all so you do not have to worry.:-) The root canal is far way worse than the actual cap.

Hi bubbles,

When I had my tooth capped, it was not painful for me. Before they put the cap on, they numbed me. It was sore later but it's not that bad. Expect sensitivity though.

Getting a tooth capped doesn't really hurt. You will only feel some pressure. Root canal is also a painless procedure but it is longer than capping the tooth.
