I am worried that the gums on my bottom teeth are recessing. Will they grow back or will I have to get some kind of graft surgery?

Hello,

The treatment of gum recession should start with addressing the cause of the problem to know what treatment method is suitable for it. It can be caused by aggressive tooth brushing, plaque build up or severe calculus and other factors. Receded gums can grow back but you need the help of your dental care professional to make it happen.

Dear jrow9005!

Whether your gums will grow back depends on the source of the problem, and the type/extent of gum recession you are suffering from.

Ideally you should consult with a peroidontist, s/he will be able to advise you further!

All the best!
