Gum infection during braces

Hello,

It's been six months since I had my braces on. I found it hard to reach the back part of my mouth
when I am brushing. Lately, I can feel pain from my back molars. The gums at the back teeth bleed when I brush. When I run my tongue over my gums, I feel like they are swollen. Am I having gum infection? Please give me some advice about this.

Thanks a lot!

Hi Poshnails,

Those hard to reach areas can be the breathing grounds for infection and bacteria. It is ideal to brush and floss your teeth regularly. Use special toothbrush suggested by your orthodontist to ensure you provide proper care for your braces. If you can't brush your teeth, gargle and rinse your mouth every time you eat something.

Hey there!

I would also use an oral water jet; it can work wonders, especially efficient when applied on braces!

All the best!
Liebe Grüße JB
