Gum falling Away Post Wisdom Tooth Extraction

I'm 31, had my bottom 2 wisdom teeth extracted 7 days ago, and have noticed on one side by my 2nd and 1st molars, my gum is separating from my teeth! If I wanted to, I could slip my tongue in between! Food is getting trapped in there! The gum line even appears quite pale in comparison to the other side, but doesn't hurt. What could this possibly be???? Help!

Best thing to do is to have your gums checked by your dentist as soon as possible. According to a post I read on thisisdentistry.co.uk, wisdom tooth extraction complications will need to be addressed immediately to prevent them from further worsening. Like you mentioned, food can get trapped in that space between the gums and teeth - and that may cause bacteria to settle in that space, which in turn may result to an infection.
