Gum bones can't support dentures

My father has been using dentures for about 20 years now. He wanted to get new ones because his dentures are already loose and they look old. The dentist said, he could not get new ones because of too much bone that has been lost from his jaw and it cannot support the dentures anymore. Is there any other method that can be done to support the dentures? Please help and thank you very much for your time!

Hello dentaFix!

Dental implants may help in keeping the dentures in place. They will be placed in key positions in the bone to let them support the dentures.

Your father can try denture reline. It involves resurfacing the inside portion of the denture so that it will fit closely to the existing condition of the gum.
