Gum Abscess

Dear everyone,

I have what looked like a gum abscess (large lump) in the bottom left side of my mouth. It feels soft to touch but it does not hurt. My teeth do not hurt as well. I tried to push it to see if there is a pus that will come out but nothing happens. What can I do to get rid of this? I know it will rupture eventually but can I pop it with a sterile needle now? I would appreciate any advice!

Hello Steelbar!

You should call the oral surgeon and book an appointment. Do not use a needle to pop it.

You should go to the dentist and have your teeth cleaned. You probably need an antibiotic to clear up the infection. If you left the infection untreated, it can spread to the other parts of your body.
