I have a problem with upper dentures. I gag and choke. I have to have a candy in my mouth constantly (atomic balls). I tried the mini 4-pin implant, but the pins broke because I do not have enough bone. What do you think of the zygomatic or tubero-ptergold implants? See website www.drmotiwala.com/htm/tuberpterygoid_implants.htm. Thanks

Well, it is a complicated and expensive solution. May work! I would try a couple conventional implants in the anterior region first.

Would you please tell the 34 year old poster who is determined to extract his teeth of your problems? He seems convinced that dentures = nirvana.

Did you go to that website? I've done quite a bit of research on this and price is reasonable -- about $13,000+ which includes hotel and airfare and tour! As far as the 34 year old, I don't how to reach him. He's crazy though. DON'T EXTRACT YOUR TEETH. Again it's www.drmotiwala.com. I'm interested in the tuberoptergoig implant. Sounds uncomplicated..Local anesthesiaa or none.
single piece implsnt and ni screws.

You need to think very, very carefully before undergoing care in any foreign country.

1. There are ALWAYS post-op things that need tidying up. Can you afford to stay in the country for a protracted period, or return frequently?
2. Many times implants are used on foreign soil which are not approved in your home country. Parts avaliability often is a problem.
3. implant supported prostheses need adjustment. Will you stay in the foreign country a long time? If not, you probably won't get a domestic dentist who wants to monkey around with adjustments.

Don't get me wrong. I have many dentists friends in foreign countries. Many are excellent dentists. Problem is, dental procedures often require extensive post-op care. You won't get that unless you are willing to spend a good long while abroad.
