Food stuck in the extraction site

User Level:
Patient
Posted by: RRizalia  (9 years ago)

I had two molars extracted in the upper right and two in the upper left two days ago. The pain has been manageable so far. I only eat soft foods like yogurt, fruits I have put in the blender and mashed potatoes. What bothers me now is a white soft food stuck in the extraction site. I keep rinsing my mouth with salt water hoping that the food particle will be dislodged but to no avail. I am afraid to poke around in there.

How can I expel it out? It seemed it was held in firmly by the stitches in the socket. Is it okay to just leave it there? Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thank you.
