Food get stuck between crowned tooth and natural tooth

Hello everyone!

I got a crown on my bottom right first molar two weeks ago. Since then, food always gets stuck between the crowned tooth and the second molar tooth. I used to take it with floss without any problem but now that area is sore. The gum around the crowned tooth became swollen. Any idea what’s wrong and what could be done to fix it? Thank you for the information.

Getting good contacts is an important part of doing good crowns. The dentist will have to redo one or both crowns to get a better contact. Until then, all you can do is keep it clean with floss.
