Flossing. What's the point?

Flossing has been advocated for up to 100 years. The major push has been in the last 30 years. Still there is something in the order of 5% of people who regularly floss and the research has shown minimal benefit with many legitimate trials reviewed by Cochrane showing no benefit.

There seems to be many presumptions in oral health and the causes of disease but no significant answers as to why and less answers as to how to prevent gum disease?

The first thing to prevent gum and teeth diseases is to eat teeth healthy food. Flossing saves teeth decay by removing plaque from inside the gaps of teeth. If you eat teeth healthy food then you will never face oral problems.

Thank you. Is there any scientific evidence documented for this?

Why do you need a scientific evidence for this?? Everyone knows that clean teeth pave way to healthier life. Flossing is just a way to keep your teeth clean, if you eat foods that are healthy for teeth and brush your teeth at least two times a day then flossing is not very important because some food do the work of flossing also. Take a look.
