Fixed Retainer

Hi all!

I had braces about 3 years ago and they gave me a fixed retainer on my top and bottom teeth. The retainer is only on the front teeth and not on the back. I am concerned that the back teeth will move. Any idea on this?

I would be grateful for your answers!

Hello Ragde,

As long as you wear your retainer as directed by your orthodontist, your teeth won't move. If you have doubts about it, I would consult the orthodontist.

Hi ragde03!

Retainers are only fastened onto the front teeth, as those are displaced due to pressure from the rest of your teeth; retainers are not required for the side teeth.

I hope this puts your mind at ease.. if anything is unclear or you have further questions, you should ask your orthodontist!
Liebe Grüße JB
