I am 48 and one of my fillings that was done in the 70s has fallen out or parts of it It was my upper left back moller. I can not tell. But it doesn't hurt. I have an appointment on the 21st of July to get it fixed as I do not have the $$ at this time. what would be the best care for this tooth untill then and what is the best things to eat till then thank you in advance

Don't know anything you can put in yourself that would last any time. The big risk is teeth in the area moving without a filling to maintain the space.

PLEASE consider an amalgam filling rather than the more expensive (and less durable) composite resin.

If the dentist said he no longer does amalgams, change dentists to one who does.

Almost nobody does them anymore. And everyone I have ever seen with a amalgam as broken and it always take the whole tooth with it. Not worth the whole tooth turning gray either. When ever they have to be replaced its almost always a crown. Better off with a Resin. You couldn't pay me to put a amalgam in my mouth, literally.

Plenty of good dentists do amalgams. All my dentist friends do. You are an ignorant person who has never studied dental materials and do not know anything about what you are talking about.

If you don't like amalgam, have a gold inlay then. Posterior resins, especially on molars, have a lifespan of only about 11 years. So that means a resin may have to be replaced 3 more times in your life. Because of leakage, are prone to decay around the part closest to the gums.
