Hello all! My mom had teeth issues, so she went to the dentist and had her tooth filled. The way she described me, the tool which the dentist filled with had been enormous and it hurt like hell.It took like only 5 minutes. My mom has had her tooth filled before and she told me that the tool had been smaller and it didn't take that short to fill, nor that painful. She told me it cost her around 15$ first time with Health fund included. But this time the dentist told her it cost like 35$.
So my question is..
Can you give me details about filling, especially for cost and about the tool which is used.. ?

1. Sometimes and in some areas it is easy to get patients numb; sometimes it is not. It has nothing to do with the size of the instruments used.
2. Bigger fillings cost more than smaller fillings. Price inflation has occurred in the last three years. Quoting you fees in this forum would be ridiculous as fees vary widely from locale to locale. Also know we have no idea what your "health fund" is so it does not even need to be included in the conversation.

I will say, however, that your mother is extremely lucky to be covered by any sort of plan where the copayments are so low!
