Facial pain

Hello!

I have been having some discomfort on tooth #13 for the past two weeks. Three days ago, I went to the dentist to have it looked at. After taking some x-rays, the dentist said I needed a root canal right away because the tooth was severely infected. He also drilled and prepped tooth #12 for a crown. That night, I was in horrible pain. I called the dentist the next about the pain and he referred me to an endodontist.

I went to the endodontist yesterday and he also performed a root canal on #12. When the anesthesia wore off, I got pressure sensation in my cheek. I also get deep pain in my left temple.

Does anyone know what this pain in my face is? The dentist said nothing is wrong with the root-canalled teeth. I am so scared that the pain is permanent. Please help!

Probably just a post-op infection, or a severe inflammatory response that can be treated with a steroid dose-pack. Return to the treating dentist for evaluation.
