Extraction and Braces

Dear all!

I had a root canal on my upper left second molar, which failed, and the endodontist scheduled me for a retreatment. Since this tooth has given me many problems and I am already tired of pain and going back to the dentist several times, I am now thinking of just getting the tooth pulled. I am also planning to get braces in the future for my slightly crooked front teeth. In case the tooth is pulled, can the gap be filled using braces? Please help!!! Thanks so much for any advice.

Nope, the gap cannot be filled if you extract the tooth. Assuming you have lost your wisdom teeth already, it will be difficult to impossilbe to replace this tooth. The upper 2nd molar region is the most difficult and least predictable area to place implants.
