Exposed jawbone

User Level:
Patient

I was eating natchos when I accidentally scratched my gum on the inner side of the left side of my jaw, right where my wisdom tooth grew and the left side of my tongue rest against my inner jaw. There was about ¼-exposed area of my jawbone. My left gland was swollen after sometime, but it started to dissipate. However, I wonder why the hole there just will not close up. I believe it has healed because it’s smaller today than it was 4 days ago. However, my worry is that it’s staying forever. Is this normal? Do you think it’s already healing? Could it possibly cause worse problems?
