Excess skin in the mouth

Hi everyone!

I'd had braces when I was younger. I also have the habit of biting the inside of my cheeks. Now I have flaps in there. Sometimes, it covers my molars which make them difficult to floss. Sometimes, the cheek skin is being caught between my back teeth and it hurts. Does anyone else have this? Is it possible to reduce the amount of excess skin inside my mouth? Any advice, please?

I would be grateful for your answers!

Hi there!

Yes, removing the extra tissue is possible. Go to an oral surgeon to have the procedure done. Good luck!

Hello!

Removing the excess skin on the inside of the cheeks is simple and is done quite often. The surgery would be best performed by an oral surgeon.
