Do I need bite adjustment?

Five days ago, I had a deep cavity drilled and filled with a white colored filling. The tooth did not have a root canal because the dentist said it is not necessary. Everything went well; I had no pain for the last four days.

This morning when I woke up, I got a slight pain in the filled tooth. I also noticed some sensitivity to cold. Do I need to go to the have my bite adjusted? The sensitivity comes and goes and it was very mild. I don’t feel anything with hot though. Please help! I can’t decide if it is necessary to go to the dentist or not. I would highly appreciate any information. Thanks!

Hello. The white filling material is called composite and although it looks the same as natural tooth color it is known to cause sensitivity. Mild sensitivity is not so terrible and it should diminish wit time. If your filling was high you would experience toothache and greater discomfort. I hope this helps.
