Dental implant with permanent dentures, upper and lower

User Level:
Patient
Posted by: edieredmann  (8 years ago)
I had dental implants put in a week and a half ago, with full dentures, that will eventually be permanent, both upper and lower. I had five implants on top, and five implants on the bottom. I currently have temporary plates attached. I was a smoker for many years. I quit smoking regular cigarettes, and use an e- cigarette very infrequently. I am panicked to hear that this could ruin my implants! I haven't smoked regular cigarettes in over a month. My implants seem to feel fine on the uppers, but I am still experiencing a little pain on the front lower implant. Has anyone ever experienced this, and could you tell me your experience, and what to expect? I am a bit frantic.

You should quit smoking as it really affects the area where implants are done. Go for a regular checkup as soon as possible so that you could get treated well in time before anything major happens.
