Dental Hiatus

It's been a full 4 years since I last went to the dentist for a checkup. This is due to the fact that I move a lot because of my husband's job, and it's been hard to find a dentist that is convenient.

My teeth feel fine...I've experienced no pain during the last 4 years. However, I would like to no what are the risks of not going to the dentist in so long? Are there any warning signs that my teeth could be in bad health? Thanks.

Hello Amatigress,

It is important to go to the dentist regularly to keep your teeth healthy. The purpose is to prevent tooth decay, gum disease and other problem that can put your teeth and mouth at risk. Most dental problems become painful or visible only when they are already at their worst state.

I think it is important to have your teeth checked and cleaned regularly. It would be better to prevent cavities before they begin.
