Dental Flipper

Hi all!

I have five upper back teeth that will be extracted tomorrow. The dentist said, he will have a flipper put in until I am healed enough to get implants. I've heard that a flipper is not comfortable to wear, it may irritate the mouth. Is it necessary to get the flipper? How long will I need to use it?

If you can tolerate being toothless while waiting for your implants then it is okay not to get the flipper. Dental flipper is a temporary solution until the dental implants can be prepared and implanted. The process of getting dental implants can take several months.

I suggest you get the flipper until your implants are ready. Getting dental implants is not an instant, you will have to wait for several months. The flipper will make you more comfortable and good looking.:-)
