Dental fillings falling out

Hello Doc,

I just had three fillings today. Bits of amalgam have been falling out. I also see one filling which is just a chip sticking out of the top of my tooth. What will I do? Is this normal for a newly placed filling? Please help. Thank you so much for your answers.

Dear enamel,

It seems not normal. Go back to your dentist to have it checked. It might not be properly sealed.

Dear enamel, mayday is correct in this case. Everything that seems “abnormal” should be cleared up; ideally talk to your dentist again, and definitely have the filling checked!
