I have done that, in a case of frank overtreatment. Many conscientious dentists would do this. If you live near a dental school, asking for a professor there to do it would be a good idea.

If not, you just have to call around, or better yet craft a well-written letter stating why you are suspicious, and send it to reputable older dentists who own their own practice. Don't bother with the corporate clinics employing young dentists. The big thing that would scare most dentists is the prospect of spending valuable time in court defending their positions.

Remember that to assess such a situation, any dentist would need a GOOD copy of x-rays taken AFTER your treatment. Only with these could a dentist assess the quality of root canals, implants, and crown margins.
