Dental Bridge Removal

I have a dental bridge put in to replace two pulled upper molar about 10 years ago. The tooth which holds the bridge has been aching a lot for the past few weeks. I went to the dentist who performed an X-ray on the tooth. The result showed there is an infection in the root of the tooth. The dentist tried very hard to remove the bridge
so he could treat the tooth but he just can't get it off. He put me on a course of antibiotics and he instructed me to go back to him when I finish it.What are the risks involved in taking off a dental bridge? Can he put it back on after the root canal therapy or do I need to get a new one?

I would really appreciate any answer you can give me!

A root canal can be performed through the bridge. They will put a small hole on top of the crowned tooth to have an access to it then fill it after the root canal procedure. One of the risks involved in removing a dental bridge would be the possibility of having the crown of the tooth fractured.

The root canal can be done through the crown. You should have an endodontist do this since the root canal procedure will be more complicated.
