Deep cleaning and replaced filling

Hi Doc!

Last week, I went through a deep cleaning procedure and at the same time had my metal filling replaced with a white filling.

I experienced extreme sensitivity on all my teeth after the treatment. The molar which has the filling replaced is very painful, it runs through my jaw. The gum around the molar is very swollen.

Does the deep cleaning procedure have affected the filled molar? Should I visit my dentist now or shoud I give it some more days?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Dear myteeth!

Here is a very informative article regarding composite tooth fillings http://www.checkdent.com/dental-blog/compatibility-of-composite-restorations.html?lang=en.

I would visit your dentist, as it sounds like your dental nerve has been damaged due to the filling. Eventually you may need further treatment to get it rectified.

All the best!

Thank you Doc for the article. I do need a root canal on the filled molar.
