Cracked under bridge

User Level:
Patient
Posted by: myjeez23  (8 years ago)

So, about five months ago, I had my old bridge removed. There was decay under it. I had a crown lengthening procedure done then got a temporary bridge fitted in. Everything went fine with the temporary bridge. When the permanent one was fitted in, my problems started. It never felt right. When I chewed on that side, it felt painful. I went to the periodontist many times for bite adjustments but these did not alleviate the pain. I tried to have a new dentist check on it. The x-ray looked fine. He thinks a cracked tooth under the bridge causes the pain. If I indeed have a cracked tooth, why didn’t it show on x-ray? He advised me to see an Endodontist for a possible root canal. Any ideas? I would like to gather opinions while waiting for my appointment with the Endodontist. Thank you so much in advance.
