Chipping Teeth

My husband probably averages 6 trips to the dentist each year to repair chipped teeth. He wore a mouth guard at night, that did not help. He is very careful when he chews. He is missing quite a few of his back teeth causing shifting when he chews. Any suggestions on how to help prevent more chipping?

Hi Doc,
I am also problematic with my tooth. It chipped a few days ago. This tooth has already chipped before and my dentist had filed it down. I also wear night guards. What should I do?

Hi wbitt15774,
He should avoid chewing ice, eating/drinking too hot and too cold, drinking too much soda or anything acidic. He may also opt for veneers.

Hello,
Chipping of teeth is likely a sign of low calcium. He can have calcium supplements to maintain the health of
the teeth and bones as well.
