Chipped Tooth

Hey there,

Ive chipped my very front top tooth about 10 years ago.. a little chip is gone from the bottom which makes the bottom surface of my tooth kind of slanted. Also it is a little rough, cause I can feel the edge with my tongue..

I was wondering if there are any medical concerns at all? Its never bothered me till now, never had any issues, Im just wondering whether I should be worried, like if theres possibility for nerve damage or something..

Also, on an aesthetic level, what are my options for getting it fixed? Would it be "sanded" evenly, or would I need an extra piece (cap?) attached? And how much would it cost?

Thanks for your time and advice!

Hey Andy!

You have several options depending on how much of the tooth has broken off. For example, you could smooth and straighten the tooth, or undergo a fitting procedure using synthetic materials or veneers.

The procedures are all very different, and therefore so are the prices. Your best bet would be to get quotes on price from 3-4 different dentists in your city.

All the best!

Hi there!

The treatments can vary and will depend on how damaged the tooth is. My tooth was badly fractured and I got a crown fitted in.
