Can I take my braces off after two days of wearing them?

Hi everybody!

I just had my braces on two days ago and now I really want to have them taken off immediately. I was warned by the orthodontist that they will hurt for a few days but mine is killing me. My bands keep cutting my tongue. I taste blood all the time. It's extremely painful to talk and I really can't eat. The wax does not work, it keeps falling off. The painkillers didn't work either. Is it possible to just have them removed? Any advice please?

Dear Icepop,

I am sorry for your pain.:-(

You should give it a time. It will get better soon. Train your tongue to stay away from the appliances in your mouth. As for the wax, maybe you are not using it the right way. You can ring your orthodontist for some instructions. I hope you will get better soon.

Aww, I can relate to your pain. Trust me it will get better. When I got my braces on, I was in constant pain for about two weeks. Once you'll get used to it, you will be fine. Do not get them off, if you do, all the pain that you have already endured will be for nothing.
