Can a tooth that was fractured below the gum line be saved?

Hi all!

The root of my central incisor has a horizontal fracture. The dentist said there is a possibility that the crack might worsen even after giving the treatment so he recommended extraction and implant. Is there any other way to save this tooth? The root of the tooth is still firmly attached to the bone, only the upper part is loose. Any advise please! Thanks.

Hello!

When a tooth is loose, it slowly dies off and it has to come out in the end. If the crack is below the gum line, the chance of saving the tooth is very minimal so it is not worth spending so much money trying to save it. I would listen to the dentist's advice; extract the tooth and replace it with implant.

My back molar was cracked and it became loose. It caused me a toothache. It turned out the tooth was abscessed, I had a root canal done but it failed. I went on antibiotics and I ended up losing the tooth.
