Broken Jaw after wisdom teeth removal

Hi all!

I had all my four wisdom teeth removed just recently. During the surgery, the surgeon said they were compacted and he had to drill into the bone to remove them. It's the fifth day after the surgery and my mouth and jaw have been killing me. I went back to the oral surgeon this morning and he told me to eat soft foods or take liquid diet for six weeks and limit jaw movement. If it does not improve or may fully break, my mouth will be wired shut. Has anyone else experienced this? What can I do to keep my jaw from being wired shut?

Please help! Thanks!

Hello!

I have a friend who had a broken jaw after a wisdom tooth extraction but she healed up fine. Eat soft foods and drink milk. Keep going to your dentist every week or two just to make sure your condition is improving.
