bone graft?

User Level:
Patient

I had two extractions last Monday and they did the bone graft for the sockets. By Friday the membrane came off and the sockets are empty. I contacted my dentist where I got shoved off to an assistant and she said that is fine that the material was absorbed in. I do not have any pain but just want to make sure I didn't spend all this money for nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

I have only had one case where the patient lost all of the graft material, and this was a smoker. Yes, sometimes the membrane comes off after a day or two. Usually by then the clot is well-established with the graft material.
