My tooth #4 has been hurting since last week and I went to the dentist to have it looked at two days ago. This tooth has decay. The dentist said the decay is on the edge of the pulp. He said he will go in and clean the decay out and if he will reach the pulp, I might need a root canal.
After cleaning it out, he said I would only need a filling. When the wore off, I got throbbing pain and sensitivity to hot and cold. It does not hurt to biting down. Is this normal or an indication that I still need a canal? This is my first dental work done ever so I don’t know what to expect. I would be very grateful for any advice/help.
