Advice needed - floss/interdental cleaning

Hi

After an expensive dental year last year I improved my cleaning routine. I started flossing daily and brushing 3 times daily instead of twice.
After 6 months I needed no treatment on my teeth but my gums were WORSE. Last time my gum scores were 1s and 2s. Now they are all 2s and a 3. The area with a 3 now has an infection and I have antibiotics. The emergency dentist did an x-ray, there's no tooth damaged but I have a pocket there. She suggested interdental brushing in that area instead of flossing. I tried this and the smallest brush fits in the gap but nowhere else in my mouth!
So does that mean I have to keep flossing which is making my gums worse? What am I supposed to do?

:(

Thanks.

Interproximal brushes are not for everyone. Obviously you are applying the wrong tools/force to clean those pockets. pockets of 3mm are border line. You should find a solution to this problem because if you continue th situation will become worse. Try "Soft pick" by gum, and do not use a lot of pressure against your gums when you floss. That causes trauma to your gums.
Ask a dental hygienist, they will give you proper instructions on what and how to use oral hygiene tools

I think that RDH Anna S is right. But you can also use oral shower (talk with your dentist or dental hygienist more about them), and I think that 3 times of brushing is not good for your gums and teeth, instead of brushing 3 times you can make some actions after eating like chewing a Xylitol gum for about 5 to 20 minutes, rinse with normal water for 1 minute or add a small piece of white cheese to your meal.

That's good. Also provide more information which is useful in dental care. how to apply those methods for oral health.
