Hi!

My daughter who is six years old has some adult teeth growing behind her baby teeth. The ones on behind her two front teeth are crooked. What can I do to make them straight as they are coming out? Thanks!

Sometimes we intervene early in child orthodontics, but many times it is not worth the effort or money. Consult a good GP who has a lot of experience in orthodontics or an orthodontist. HOWEVER, be aware that orthodontists are starved for patients right now and are likely to initiate orthodontics NOW whether it is beneficial or not.

Kids are getting their permanent teeth in by 11 these days. IN MOST ALL CASES, it is prudent to wait until that age and do the complete ortho case in one fell swoop. BUT UNFORTUNATELY, most overconcered parents cannot stand waiting that long.
