Abscessed tooth under a bridge

User Level:
Patient

Hello!

I went to the dentist today for a pain on a three-unit fixed bridge on my bottom left molars. He said I have an abscessed tooth under the bridge that needs to be pulled. I am so concerned about this because he might damage the healthy teeth alongside of the tooth to be extracted. Do I have any other option to fix this? Or is extraction the only solution for this? Please advise me. I would be forever grateful for your help.
