The bone condenser helps to compress bone matter surrounding an implant.
This can increase the primary stability of the implant, which means a shorter healing period.
The animation shows the basics of bone condensation, simply turning the instrument around causes bone to condense.
The film shows a bone condenser being used – the mucuous membrane is removed using an implant puncher and drilling performed. The bone is allowed to condense – after which the implant is immediately inserted. Because primary stability was high, the patient received the implant teeth right away.
