What is Prosthetics?

The term prosthesis in dental science simply means removable artificial teeth. Most of us are familiar with the image of grandmother’s denture immersed in a glass of water. Dentistry has incredibly advanced since then and the old dentures are definitely a thing of the past. Today’s trend involves the much more comfortable fixed dentures and prosthesis. The classic dentures are used today only as a provisional denture or until the dental implants get an exposure to the jaw’s chewing pressure. Dental advancement has ensured that the complete bio mechanical process of the denture has changed over the years thereby allowing patients more comfort, flexibility and long lasting dentures and prosthesis. Newly developed materials are now being integrated into dentures which are popular today.
