Endodontology is the Latin term for the science that deals with causes, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases of the dental pulp as well as their consequences. The scientific field of Endodontics deals specifically with the problems of the dental roots. Teeth that have undergone proper root treatment can last a lifetime without complications. If a root canal treatment hasn't been performed correctly it can cause problems after days, months and even years.
