The root canal rinse serves as cleaning of the opened root canal during root treatment. The root tip canal has to be cleaned carefully if an infection of the tooth nerve was the case; this is done by using dental douche and mechanic renovation of the root canal. This is all performed during a root treatment. First the canal is opened conical with root treatment instruments. Smooth canal walls can be better wetted with the rising solution; moreover infected dentine is removed mechanically. Then a longer rinsing process with special solutions takes place. The coffer dam protects from swallowing the solutions as well as from pollution since here are many bacteria in the saliva which can destroy the root treatment.
