An impression post is a tool used during an implant impression. In restorative dentistry, an impression post is used to locate the implant in the dental impression that your dentist and the dental technician will make. An impression post is fixed into the implant with a little screwdriver. In an implant impression, one distinguishes between two techniques: The pickup and reposition technique. For each technique there are different impression posts. The pickup technique is the more exact of the two but requires more time on the dentist’s part.
