Swollen tongue and cheeks after extraction

Hello,

I’m 22 years old. Last week, I had all my four wisdom teeth removed. They were all impacted and the extraction was a bit difficult. After the surgery, my tongue became swollen and numb. My cheeks were swollen as well. I can barely open my mouth. Has anyone had similar experience after wisdom teeth extraction? What causes the pain? Thank you in advance for your answers.

Swelling and limited opening are kind of normal for difficult extractions. Numbness is less so. Let's hope it is temporary. Only time will tell. Try to stretch your mouth open more each day.
