Two months ago, I got a crown put on my tooth #4. Since it was placed, I got this metal taste in that side of my mouth. When I told the dentist about it, he said it’s normal and would go away eventually. It’s been two months and the taste is still there. Does anyone know how long this last would? Though the dentist said it’s normal, I was really worried that it could bring any harm to my health. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Hey coatea,
What was this crown made of and what other 'metal' filling/crown do you have on currently? This is pretty uncommon but it is most likely the effects of galvanism where one would normally experience a metallic taste when they have a different metal filling/restoration in close proximity. The saliva acts as a connector/medium between these two metal restorations.
Two months is a little too much and I think you need to get your dentist to switch one of your restorations to non-metallic (maybe get a ceramic crown instead of the metal). That should take care of it hopefully. Good luck!
