I want my baby teeth pulled out

Hi all,

I am 18 years old and still have eight baby teeth. When my baby canine fell off, there was no adult tooth to replace it. The dentist said most of my baby teeth do not have adult teeth to replace them. I was told that I have five missing adult teeth. Most of my baby teeth are smaller compared to the rest of my teeth and they looked ugly. I feel self-conscious and uncomfortable about them.

Can I ask the dentist to pull my baby teeth out and replace them with dentures? I love my single tooth denture! It was cheap, no pain and looked like a natural tooth. Do you think that this is a good idea? I would be thankful for any help or advice in the future.

If your baby teeth are not located on esthetic area and not mobile, then i don't see any reason to take them out and replace with denture especially at this young age! I would definitely advise you to visit orthodontist regarding this. I have seen many patient having their baby teeth even after 40's! If those teeth are located in esthetic area, then dentist can build up crown or veneer on it to look just like your other teeth.
Your Orthodontist can give you more advise about all the available options for you. Don't worry and just visit him.
Best of luck with your future treatment!
