How to clean a retainer?

Hello!

I just got my retainer on a few days ago. I wonder how to clean it. I usually clean it with a toothbrush and a toothpaste. Is this enough? If not, what else can I do to clean it thoroughly.

Please give me some tips! Thanks a lot!

Ive heard you can submerge the retainer in vinegar for a few minutes.. rinsing with warm water afterwards.

Wonder if there are any special retainer cleaning solutions?

You can scrub it with a toothbrush with toothpaste and soak it in mouthwash for an hour after. You can also have your orthodontist thoroughly clean it. They have a cleaning instrument for retainers.

There are some special brushes that help you clean retainers but you can use a regular toothbrush as well. Just apply toothpaste and scrub. Then rinse throughly with warm water. Be patient and don't get frustrated because it may be time consuming but it is necessary
