Cystlike bump in gums after root canal

I had an abscessed tooth (#8 front tooth with porcelian crown) a couple weeks ago during the weekend. A lot of pain and swelling. I went to the dentist that did the crown in Mississippi. She rx'ed antibotics and pain pills. Tuesday, I went back for a root canal. I noticed Tuesday evening that all the swelling appeared to have subsided but my upper lip was still tight as well as my nose on that side. I also feel a cystlike bump on my inner lip/gum line. (Where the upper lip meets the gums.) What could cause this and can it just be treated with more antibotics.

Thanks

It takes a while for the abscess and granulation tissue to go away after a root canal. If the root canal is successful, the cyst will go away over time and be replaced by healthy bone. It may take as long as two months to get totally back to normal.

Thanks, that makes me feel better. I called the dentist this morning and she rx another round of antibotics. If they don't work then she wants me to come back. I feel comfortable with that plan of treatment.
